I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, corny, but true. My early days were spent copying Marjolein Bastin’s illustrations from De Libelle, the magazine my mom subscribed to. Vera the Mouse was my first m(o)use, haha.
Growing up as a 90s kid, I experienced the wonders of going online over the phone, with that unforgettable dial-up sound. I explored the limited possibilities of the Program Paint. My love for computers never stopped, and today, I work digitally, blending my art with technology in ways I couldn’t have imagined back then.
My work is split between dreamy surf illustrations and socially critical art, trying to make sense of the world. Nature, travel, surf culture and social issues are my biggest inspirations. I want my art to make people pause, even for just a second.
Originally from Holland, I now live in Tenerife, where the ocean and island life continues to inspire me.
